Join us at Baltimore Center Stage as we immerse ourselves in the magic that bonds our city's creatives, businesses, and residents together -- our love of place.

As a musician, journalist, and activist, Eze Jackson is one of Baltimore’s most important contemporary artists. He is the creator and chief visionary officer of EPIC FAM, a Baltimore based media and entertainment company with a mission to bring national attention to the city’s wealth of artists.
ABOUT THIS PERFORMANCE
Musician Eze Jackson will team up with his Epic Fam crew to tell the unique history of small businesses in Southwest Baltimore. A series of short interviews with neighborhood businesses will be weaved together with poetic narration, original music, and modern dance to bring this neighborhood story to the stage.

Originally from Jacksonville, Florida, Ivan has spent the past several years honing his skills in the comedy clubs of Baltimore and the DMV region. Recently being featured on Kevin Hart’s “Hart of the City” was one of Ivan’s career highlights. In addition to performing over 100 shows a year, Ivan is also the founder of the annual Baltimore Comedy Festival and a weekly comedy showcase hosted in Station North.

ABOUT THIS PERFORMANCE
A multi-generational exploration of the Bromo Arts District neighborhood journey from a commercial and economic center of Baltimore, through a long period of slow abandonment, to its present day iteration.
This movement-driven live performance by multidisciplinary artists Carly J Bales, Noelle Tolbert, and Laure Drogoul will be set against the backdrop of an audio-visual collage of the neighborhood and its residents, both new and old.

An international spoken word artist, poetry coach, activist, educator and executive director of the Black Arts District.
ABOUT THIS PERFORMANCE
This live performance will be driven by an original poem by Lady Brion, laid over historic images of Pennsylvania avenue and accompanied by a live musical score.
STORYTELLERS
Nia June is a Baltimore native, performer, author, filmmaker, educator, and dancer, specializing in spoken-word. Nia was also recognized by Baltimore Magazine as Best Poet of Baltimore 2020.
ABOUT THIS PERFORMANCE
This short film / visual poem will take the shape of a documentary, capturing the story of locally owned businesses through the eyes of the business owners, customers, and residents of the Greater Mondawmin neighborhood and beyond.
The essence of this community will be illustrated through moving images from filmmaker, Kirby Griffin directed by Nia June and musically narrated by Brandon Woody.

The Artesanas of Creative Alliance are a group of talented women, who are natives of Latin American countries, living in Southeast Baltimore, such as Mexico, El Salvador, and Ecuador. They honor their Latin American heritage by demonstrating, sharing, and teaching traditional crafts.

Artesanas of Creative Alliance present a short, three act play of inspiring and motivational interconnected stories that audience members will experience through photography, music and spoken word. Witness their personal, artistic and entrepreneurial journey in Baltimore via moments of discovery, challenges, hope and growth. Learn how the Artesanas promote their cultural identity and serve as women’s rights & immigrant rights advocates all while sharing their leadership and love for their adopted community.
